Our Farm Philosophy

Banks & Barnes Family Farm is rooted in a rich family legacy that began in 1951, when Nichole Barnes’ great-grandparents, Sells Banks and Estelle Banks, purchased the land and established the original family farm.

The property has remained in the family for generations and is now being revitalized with a renewed vision. What was once a traditional family farm is being thoughtfully restored to serve both the community and future generations.

Today, the farm reflects a blend of generational knowledge and modern homesteading practices, with a focus on sustainability, faith-based stewardship, and intentional living. This revival represents not only a business venture, but a continuation of a family legacy.

BB Farm NC is focused on providing affordable, high-quality produce, eggs, baked goods, and value-added goods to the local community. Rooted in faith and tradition, the farm is being revitalized with a long-term vision of becoming a full-scale, sustainable operation that not only feeds families but also educates and equips future homesteaders and farmers.

Banks & Barnes Family Farm aims to do more than sell food—it seeks to restore a way of life. By combining sustainable farming practices with education and mentorship, the farm will serve as a resource for families seeking healthier food options and a deeper connection to the land.
